GOD’S CALENDAR AS GIVEN IN THE BIBLE

The feast day of Rosh Chodesh begins the evening of the new moon each month. Rosh Chodesh is NOT worship of the moon; nor is it astrology. Rosh Chodesh is the biblical celebration that God established to mark the beginning of each new month on His calendar, by using the moon as His calendar timepiece. Genesis 1:14 reveals that God created the lights in the sky with the intentional purpose of guiding us through time. “Then God said, ‘Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night: and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years;'”

Blow the trumpet at the time of the New Moon, at the full moon, on our solemn feast day. For this is a statute for Israel, a law of the God of Jacob. (Psalm 81: 3-4)

The new moon marks the beginning of each month on God’s calendar. The full moon marks the middle of each month on God’s calendar. In our times today, Rosh Chodesh is a day to expect and celebrate new blessings and new experiences with God. Rosh Chodesh guides you through the times and seasons when God is revealing His ways in personal and corporate experiences, especially at His appointed feast days and celebrations. Rosh Chodesh is a time for you to anticipate getting closer to God each month because He desires to reveal how much He loves you and loves being in covenant with you.
